The Writer’s Grotto will agree pricing with its clients during initial project negotiation. The breadth and scope of different projects makes it impossible to apply a basic flat fee. The following pricing is generally a useful guide:

 

 

Publishers

The Writer’s Grotto adheres to the Irish Association of Freelance Editors, Proofreaders and Indexers pricing guidelines in relation to proofreading and copy-editing. Individual projects, however can be negotiated with clients.

 

PROOFREADING                   Complex (2000 words per hour)                    €25   per hour

                                            Simple (4000 words per hour)

 

COPY-EDITING              Complex (2000 words per hour)                    €40   per hour

                                            Simple (4000 words per hour)

 

Students

PROOFREADING               (Based on 300 word average per page)             €5     per page

COPY-EDITING                (Based on 300 word average per page)             €8     per page

 

Copywriting

Copywriting is generally priced at €50 per hour, but individual projects may need to have a fixed agreed price, or negotiated differently.
